The goal of this practical course is to provide participants with knowledge and skills for using an intraoral scanner and the 3Shape software for horizontal or vertical preparation borders.
The theoretical part will present the basic principles for preparing the prepared teeth and gingival tissues for proper digital impressions and the creation of precise dental models for the fabrication of crowns, bridges, and other prosthetic restorations.
Correct scanning techniques for teeth with different preparation borders will be demonstrated, as well as methods to avoid common errors that can lead to unclear or inaccurate images. Participants will practically master the process of scanning prepared teeth on printed dental models. The impact of scanning horizontal and vertical borders on the quality of the final construction will be explored, and how the 3Shape software automatically generates high-precision models.
The course will also cover the CAD design process for a full crown and occlusal overlay. All steps in the digital process of creating a prosthetic structure will be discussed in detail. Basic design steps will be demonstrated, including optimizing occlusion, adjusting detailed contours, and achieving precise, aesthetic, and functional results.
Finally, the process of adapting and the principles of cementing a 3D printed overlay onto prepared teeth will be demonstrated.
