Prof. Dr. Vladimir Panov
Prof. Dr. Vladimir Panov was born in 1976 in Sofia. In 2001 he graduated the Master’s program in Dental medicine at the Medical University, Sofia. Since then has been working at his private practice for dental care. From 2005 to 2009 he was a PhD student at BAS – Institute of Experimental Pathology and Parasitology. He specialized dental treatment under general anesthesia at Hôpital Saint Vincent de Paul in Paris in 2006. From 2009 to 2013 he was an assistant professor at the department of “Conservative and Pediatric Dentistry” at the Medical University in Varna. In June 2013 he became an associate professor at MU, Varna. Since 2013 he has been the head of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Oral Pathology, which he manages to this day. From July 2014 to October 2016 he was Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Varna University. He defended a dissertation for Doctor of Science on the topic of Therapeutical Dentistry in 2010 and Dissertation for the acquisition of scientific Ph.D. in Medical Sciences in 2016. Since April 2017 he has been a professor.
He delivers lectures to students in Dental Medicine in both Bulgarian and English. He teaches courses in the disciplines: Oral Pathology, Conservative Dentistry, and Dental Allergology. He is the supervisor of ten PhD students, seven of whom have have already acquired the educational and scientific degree “Doctor“, one has already earned the academic position of an associate professor and one of specialist. He has a recognized degree in “Dental Clinical Allergology”, as well as “Operative Dentistry and Endodontics”. Не has a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Management. He was the award winner of „SIGNUM LAUDIS PRO SCIENMERITIS“ for the most successful scientific research in regional medicine for 2012 and 2013. He is a co-founder and vice-president of „BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION OF ORAL MEDICINE“. He has over 100 publications; he has co-authored 9 textbooks and has produced 3 monographs. His Impact factor is over 32, citation – over 180, funded scientific projects – 6.
