Dr. Ahmed Tarek Farouk BDs, MSc, PhD
Restorative Dentistry Department

Dental esthetics and minimal invasive dentistry have become increasingly important during the last decade when considering diagnosis and treatment planning. Practicing additive dentistry rather than subtractive one in conjunction with applying the concept of adhesive partial restorations allows for a greater preservation of healthy tissue than one for a full ceramic restoration. this approach also allows for proper restoration of both anatomical and functional relations of the offending tooth while maintaining its integrity. The aim of this session is to present the whole clinical workflow starting from case assessment and ending by selection of the appropriate cementation technique.
Objectives:
- Highlighting the importance of proper case assessment for more predictable outcomes.
- Explore current concepts of Minimal Invasive Dentistry…. the Additive Approach.
- Elaborating the current digital workflow for indirect restoration fabrication.
- How to select among different CAD/CAM materials used for indirect esthetic restorations.
- Understanding different cementation protocols and when to do what.
