Traumatic oral lesions, Berlin Chemie

The etiological factors leading to oral mucosal lesions are many and extremely varied. Therefore, the diagnosis and treatment is a challenge for every dentist.

Among the most common causes of the development of oral mucosal lesions are traumas. These may result from repeated mechanical effects caused by inconvenient dentures, braces, chemical burns, heat, harmful habits, etc. They can occur at any age and are characterized by pain and unpleasant sensations, leading to disturbances in the function of the mucous membrane itself. In the end, they affect eating, swallowing, speech, causing loss of taste, etc.

Pain is a leading symptom causing discomfort to the patient. It is a factor supporting the pathological process. The oral mucosal damage may be characterized by single or multiple lesions. May cover a particular area or the whole oral mucosa.

Local therapy should first include good oral hygiene. The use of local remedies is intended to control pain and discomfort. All of these prophylactic and healing procedures support the healing process and lead to a better quality of life.
