Root canal treatment for children’s permanent teeth – clinical features
The presentation contains some guidelines on endodontic treatment of children’s permanent teeth. The author highlights the necessity of using anesthesia in treatment of vital teeth and proper isolation of operative field. The advantages of using magnifying devices in this kind of treatment are also emphasized.
The author accentuates the specific management in treatment of permanent teeth with incomplete root development. The attention of dental practitioners is set on saving of pulp’s vitality, when it is possible. The author discusses different strategies to achieve this aim – indirect and direct pulp capping, partial and total pulpotomy and differentiate these strategies from the cases when the development of the root is complete.
The author discusses different clinical cases and strategies in which dental pulp is not vital and necrotic. There is comparison between multi–visit apexification, using calcium hydroxide and single–visit apexification, using MTA and bioceramic products, the advantages and disadvantages of these methods.
